Brussels sprouts are one of the best foods to support our liver. This dish is such a crowd favourite at dinner parties!
Ingredients
- 600-900g brussels sprouts – about 3 punnets
- 1 lemon – zest
- 1/2 cup almonds – crushed
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 red onions
- 1 tbsp coconut oil/olive oil
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
Method
- Steam brussels – until soft but not soggy (al dante)
- fry red onions in 1tbsp coconut oil on a high heat pan
- crush almonds in food processor
- add fried onions to a bowl of the steamed brussels
- mix through olive oil, salt, chilli and lemon zest
- top with crushed almonds
