Almond milk is super easy to make yourself! Soak the nuts overnight, then blend it with filtered water in the morning!! Takes less than 10 minutes and you’ll have fresh and frothy almond milk all week. You can also customise your milk! I love adding strawberries for strawberry milk or raw cacao powder for chocolate milk etc. You can add vanilla for an optional sweet hit or keep it plain. The choice is yours!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw almonds, soaked in water and a little salt for 8-12 hours or overnight.
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt

Method

  1. Throughly rinse the soaked almonds.
  2. Combine the soaked almonds with the salt and vanilla and water in the bowl of a food processor or blender. Blend until a pulp-like consistency.
  3.  Strain the mixture through a piece of hessian (cheesecloth) cloth or a nut milk bag (buy at health food stores!) and collect it in a bowl or jar. If you like you can repeat the process by returning the almond meal to the blender and adding more water, blending quickly and straining again. This will result in a thinner milk, for a creamy thick milk only blend and strain once.
  4.  Use the almond milk as you would any other milk, keep refrigerated. Will last 4-5 days.
