Guest Post: Elissa Goodman’s Daily Health Regime

It’s such a pleasure to welcome back Elissa Goodman – she’s a dear friend, and I am thrilled we were able to spend together while I was in LA! Elissa always has such a bright, vibrant glow about her, and I just had to know what her daily health regime looks like. I’m so grateful that she’s kind enough to share her secrets with all of us! Take it away, Elissa.

My daily health regimen is one that incorporates both food & supplements to support good skin, healthy hair, and strong nails.  I start every day of with a probiotic.

Dr. Ohhira’s Professional Strength Daily Probiotic

A daily probiotic is essential – most people aren’t aware that a probiotic, in addition to balancing your gut flora, is linked to keeping us youthful.

  • Probiotics clean the liver, which in turn keeps the skin and eyes bright.
  • Probiotics eliminate skin aging free radicals and wrinkle causing toxins before they surface on our skin.
  • Probiotics keep our nails and hair healthy and strong by helping us to better convert proteins into amino acids we need.

Morning Detox Drink:

  • 2- 4 ounces George’s Aloe Vera
  • 2-4 ounces coconut kefir
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar

My morning detox tonic reduces inflammation that can lead to puffiness, skin irritation, and acne. Kefir boosts the probiotic effects and cleanses the digestive tract, lemon is detoxifying and anti-inflammatory, apple cider vinegar is a anti-microbial and has long been used for clearing up skin conditions.

GliSODin Anti-Aging Complex (2-3 capsules daily)

I take one capsule of GliSODin Anti-Aging complex daily. Its two key ingredients, superoxidase dismutase and krill oil, play key roles in decreasing cellular breakdown. This also promotes collagen production and reduces inflammation.

Green Juice with Turmeric (watercress, beets, parsley, ginger, cucumber, celery, lemon)

I have a green juice at least once daily. I supplement my green juice with turmeric. Turmeric is anti-oxidant rich to fight off wrinkle-causing free radicals. A juice is the easiest way to add an abundance of vitamins and minerals into your diet – and cleanses the system, keeping it free from skin clogging toxins that start from the gut. I use a combo of hydrating vegetables and those with vitamins needed for great skin!

LivOn Lypo-Spheric Vitamin C  – 1 packet dissolved into cool water daily  

As we age, collagen production decreases and collagen fibers break down. Vitamin C is necessary for building up collagen and will treat wrinkles. But the best way to get it isn’t a lotion or cream – it’s nutritionally. I take Lypospheric Vitamin C because it is easily absorbed by the bloodstream and is the highest quality supplement form of vitamin C available.

 At least 3 grams of Omega’s every single day

  • Chia Lemonade (1 T chia seed, 10 ounces water, juice of 1/2 a lemon)
  • Add 1 T flaxseed or 1 T hemp hearts in smoothies
  • Sprinkle walnuts or hemp hearts on salads
  • Add wild salmon onto salads or over quinoa/vegetables

Omegas reduce inflammation and keep skin hydrated (two things that make our skin age).  Omegas boost blood circulation and better carry nutrients for softer smoother skin – keeping our skin cells moist and strong for firm and plump skin tone!

Barlean’s Organic Evening Primrose Oil – 1300 mg/1 daily

Primrose oil combats sagging skin, fine lines, and wrinkles. It is rich in linolenic acid, an essential fatty acid which cannot be produced by your body – but is needed for skin rejuvenation, firmness, and cellular turnover.

Hi Jessica, I believe in synchronicity so when I was guided to you .on FB I was intrigued and inspired. I turned 46 last week and my husband bought me your book.
