Following the success of the lovely JSHealth event last week in Melbourne, we wanted to invite Georgia to share her divine interior design eye and inspire us to transform our homes into beautiful spaces. Man was created in Nature, and as biblical as this all sounds, it’s the truth! When man was first created we didn’t have high rises and brick walls.. air conditioners or TV’s! So when we spend time in Nature it would be naïve to say we don’t feel rejuvenated and reconnected with our soul and core. Have you ever stared out into the vastness of the ocean and felt completely grounded. This overwhelming enormity of what we call ‘the sea’ reminds us of how small we are in this infinite planet and how little our problems really are.
Fresh flowers, indoor plants and greenery are so important to connect us with nature within an interior.

Indoor plantation and nature is directly linked to mental and emotional development, reduce stress and improve concentration. The introduction of potted plants within indoor environments have proved to lower blood pressure, increase concentration, increase productivity, improve wellbeing, lower levels of anxiety and raise satisfaction of users of the space.

We all know the sense of nostalgia that is felt when we smell a certain scent; maybe a specific perfume or the smell of the initial drops of rain on a dry curbside. Associating smells to past experiences, there is something incredibly magical when we are taken back to long gone places and times in our life solely through our sense of smell.

 

Certain fragrances can result in how we feel and result in physiological functions, causing us to feel relaxed, reducing tension leading to a more motivated and excited state… the beneficial list goes on.
This particular sense literally affects areas of our brain function that directly relates with emotions and feelings and ultimately leading to our behavioral responses. How cool is that!

 

In our homes this information is gold, because we can literally change our experience within our spaces to reflect a positive end-user experience! We also have a serious power to connect us and ground us to the earth. Through the aura of a natural burning fireplace or the rich varnished oak of a new floor, or burning lavender oils, we are connected and reconnected with nature and innately brought back to our core essence of who we are as human beings without the noise that comes in and out of our lives and within our minds.

 

Second to this, certain fragrances and oils have the power to literally induce a state of energy and motivation leading to an all-greater productivity in our daily life. This golden information is miraculous because we hold the key to really dictate our footprint and daily outcomes in a direction we wish to go, purely by the smells within our home!
