Country Road’s fresh, simple designs have always been a go-to for me, so when the iconic Australian brand recently launched an all new activewear range I couldn’t wait to try it on. I was fortunate to test out a variety of pieces on last week’s holiday in Byron Bay, and I’m so excited to tell you about them!
From first glance, I could see that the sporty, high-performance pieces were designed for the fashion conscious. While I don’t consider myself a fashionista, I know what I like and I know what makes me feel comfortable. This line hit the mark – it’s a great combination of form and function.
Country Road designed the line with streamlined silhouettes, modern construction and innovative fabrics. While some of the pieces are sleek, monochrome basics, you can also color block with bright, beautiful shades. I love the pink grapefruit and spearmint options to mix and match, and the flashes of neon are so on point this season.
What really impressed me, though, was the “technical guide.” Because each piece is specifically designed to suit your workout needs, you only need to check the tag for high-tech details – the fit, fabric and support. I love a loose, breathable short to jog on the beach, for example. The Run Base Perforated Short is exactly what I need – lightweight and comfortable for a sweaty workout. The tag lets me know that it’s lightweight and will allow me to move! Breathable organic cotton and quick drying materials pull moisture from the skin, making them perfect for intense, high intensity workouts.
Another day-to-day favourite is the Run Graphic Zip Off Breaker. I practically lived in it while we were on holiday in Byron Bay! It’s lightweight with convertible sleeves, which I love (you can zip them off and store them in your pockets!) It’s windproof and water resistant, which makes it a great choice year round, but it’s comfortable enough to wear to yoga or just lounging around inside. The graphic marshmallow print coordinates with anything, but I also loved the Perforated Zip Off Breaker in spearmint for a gorgeous pop of color.
While I doubt you need more convincing to try out the range for yourself, be sure to watch Raise the Pulse, an incredible short film featuring Australian high-jump champion Amy Pejkovic. It captures her moments of adrenaline fueled, high intensity moves with restorative stretching and yoga – so inspiring, and a fantastic motivator to move your body!
