Lauryn Evarts is an online influencer & the creative director behind The Skinny Confidential. We absolutely love her down-to-earth approach to wellness and life in general – not to mention, her goal of connecting women from across the world and showcasing major ‘realness’ – making health and wellbeing achievable for every person. In her own words, ‘Stay in your own lane, manage stress properly and pay attention to your wellness’ – we couldn’t agree more! Read on to find out Lauryn’s Day on a Plate…

  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself – who you are and what you do.

I’m Lauryn, founder of The Skinny Confidential, a lifestyle blog featuring a range of topics from health, to wellness, to beauty, style, & home decor. You’ll also find us discussing some pretty taboo subjects. Think camel toes, boob jobs, & botox. The Skinny Confidential is a community because honestly, the readers share some tips too! TSC started as a blog, but since then it’s grown into a book, YouTube channel, fitness eBook, & meal plan. Also, my fiance & I host a podcast called The Skinny Confidential HIM & HER on PodcastOne.

  1. What was the ‘uh ha’ moment that inspired you to get into health and wellbeing?

I was in college at San Diego State, bored as hell. There was a serious lack of healthy food options on campus. It inspired me to create a space for women to share their tips & tricks. A blog seemed like the perfect platform.

  1. Talk us through a typical day in your life…

My day usually starts with a quick meditation, breakfast, lemon water, & then some coffee. Afterwards I like to workout, it always sets the tone of the day. For workouts, I follow TSC Bombshell Body Guide because it’s designed to targeted every little nook & cranny in your body. I also love weight training, interval training on the treadmill, yoga, & pilates. As far as food goes, I keep it simple.

For example yesterday, I started the day with TSC Detox Drink. Then had two scrambled eggs with 1/2 an avocado.

For lunch I made an open faced turkey sandwich. A few hours later I snacked on a handful of berries. I finished the day with salmon & TSC Spicy Brussels Sprouts (Recipe on TSC Bombshell Body Guide website for members ).

Definitely not slaving away in the kitchen for hours. To see exactly what I typically eat in a week, check out The Shredding for the Wedding 7 Day Meal Plan.

Another thing I do: walk everywhere!

Some of my favourite foods/drinks are: eggs, avocado, strawberries, chia seeds, grapefruit, kale, spinach, Greek yogurt, garbanzo beans, lentils, dark chocolate chips, peppermint tea, guacamole, salmon, & a hamburger wrapped in lettuce. The simpler the better.

I also love a glass or rose…or a skinny margarita ; ).

  1. Three foods you can’t live without?

TSC Detox Drink is my go to every single morning. Definitely cannot live without it.

Avocado & eggs too! Love that combo. Protein x healthy fat. Add a little chile flake and lemon & I’m good to go.

As far as a guilty pleasure? Chips & salsa. YUM.

  1. What’s your go-to snack for those days on the run?

Anything quick, yummy, & energizing. I usually opt for a hardboiled egg, toast with almond butter or avocado, or sliced turkey with pesto or cheese inside. Lean protein or healthy fats are definitely the way to go!

  1. … And any last words of advice or tips for those starting out on their health journey?

Balance your diet like a checkbook. Try to do something active and MOVE every single day. Shoot for a minimum of 30 minutes of activity every day if possible. I try to break a sweat everyday.

Consistency and balance will make all the difference. Stay in your own lane, manage stress properly and pay attention to your wellness (I love acupuncture, cupping, chiropractor, and herbs!).
